23.11.2007
Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd. / Product Launch/Product Launch 23.11.2007 Release of a Corporate News, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer / publisher is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. =-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (CFCL), a leading developer of solid oxide fuel cells and provider of enabling technology for micro-combined heat and power (m-CHP) units, has been awarded European 'CE' safety approval for NetGenPlusTM, its m-CHP system designed to generate electricity and provide hot water and central heating for homes and small businesses. NetGenPlusTM is CFCL's third CHP system to receive CE ('Conformité Européene') approval, which is required before CHP units can be deployed in Europe in field trials and then on a commercial scale. The CE tests of the NetGenPlusTM unit were conducted by the Netherlands-based independent technical specialist, Kiwa Gastec Certification, Europe's market leader for testing and certification of gas related products. The NetGenPlusTM unit can be easily connected to existing gas and electricity networks and has similar characteristics to its predecessor, NetGenTM, with the more powerful Gennex fuel cell module - launched by CFCL in late 2006 - installed inside. NetGenPlusTM is powered by CFCL's advanced metal-ceramic fuel cell stack, running on natural gas. NetGenPlusTM units will be installed with leading utility customers and appliance partners as part of product development projects in Germany, France, UK, and Benelux. CFCL's partners EWE and Bruns in Germany and De Dietrich Thermique in France, have already received NetGenTM units and CFCL expects to commence the roll out of the next generation NetGenPlusTM units to its other partners, Gaz de France (the largest gas company in Europe), Remeha / De Dietrich (the largest gas boiler maker in France and Holland), Nuon (a leading Dutch energy company) and E.ON UK Ltd (the UK's largest integrated power and gas company) in the coming months. CFCL's utility partners combined have more than 20 million customers across Europe. Brendan Dow, Managing Director, commented: 'CE is a demanding, rigorous test carried out by independent technical specialists. Securing CE approval requires significant expertise in designing and building complete, fully integrated combined heat and power units which have been independently tested in real world conditions. The award of this certificate of safety for our NetGenPlusTM unit underscores our progress towards commercialisation across Europe.' About CFCL Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited is a leader in developing solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology which can provide reliable, energy efficient, high-quality, and low-emission electricity from widely available natural gas and renewable fuels. CFCL is developing SOFC products for small-scale on-site micro combined heat and power (m-CHP) and distributed generation units that co-generate electricity and heat for domestic use. CFCL is listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM market and the Australian Securities Exchange (code CFU). www.cfcl.com.au Contact: GolinHarris B&L GmbH, Matthias C.
