=------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclosure announcement transmitted by euro adhoc. The issuer is responsible for the content of this announcement. =------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 27.11.2007 Sunways AG (Macairestraße 3 - 5, D-78467 Konstanz, ISIN DE0007332207, ISIN DE000A0BNPN0) will acquire a turnkey unit for the production of polysilicon from Schmid Silicon Technology, an enterprise of the Schmid group of companies, Freudenstadt/Germany, and contribute the same to a separate company. The production unit is based on the monosilane process, will have an annual production capacity of 1,000 metric tons and be located at the industrial site "Schwarze Pumpe" in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. Sunways expects to start producing silicon at this unit as of the year-end 2009. As from 2010, the full annual capacity of 1,000 metric tons is expected to be available. This silicon volume is sufficient for the production of wafers for solar cells with a total capacity of 100 megawatts. The cost of this production process is expected to be below the previously known expense level in the polysilicon production segment. The trichlorsilane required for the production process will by provided by an industrial partner with some experience in the production of this source material. No further details of the contract are disclosed at this point. The acquisition of the production line is part of the long-term and economically advantageous raw materials supply policy of Sunways AG. Based on the monosilane process, Schmid, a producer of modular units for the production of solar cells, plans to establish a technology center for the development of processes and equipment for silicon production in the Free State of Saxony, Germany, at the industrial site "Schwarze Pumpe". As a general contractor for several international photovoltaics companies, Schmid will realize several modular silicon production plants in each case with an annual capacity of about 1,000 metric tons of silicon (monosilane process) at this location to be supplied with the necessary primary products (TCS, gases, energy) by an operating company on a centralized basis. end of announcement euro adhoc 27.11.2007 17:16:59 =-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
