The cooperation offered photovoltaic power plant operators highly reliable technology and expertise for the integration, implementation and operation of rugged solutions for greater system availability and higher energy yields. 'With respect to the objectives we set ourselves regarding our cooperation, we fulfilled and even exceeded our expectations to such an extent that we were able to acquire the whole company, thereby further strengthening our collaboration', commented Horst Kayser, CEO of AEG Power Solutions. Strategically, both companies fit together perfectly. AEG PS benefits from skytron's position in renewables, skytron profits from the global network of AEG PS in sales and service. Skytron provides leading-edge metering, monitoring and supervision solutions to companies in engineering, procurement and construction (EPCs), as well as to independent power producers (IPPs). By setting high operating and financial objectives with the strategic Agenda 2012 initiated by CEO Kayser, AEG PS is driving its international growth immensely. Under the existing management of Martin Sauter, skytron will stay a separate legal entity with its own brand. skytron and AEG PS will jointly take advantage of the strong global growth within the solar market, especially in India. Other business opportunities are developing operations and maintenance business as well as smart grid solutions. AEG Power Solutions' results for the second quarter, which are due to be announced August 11, 2011, will reflect the adopted strategy as well as the effects of Agenda 2012.
