DGAP-News: Schweizer Electronic AG / Key word(s): Miscellaneous Schweizer Electronic AG: Flexibility in combining: HDI and RF Combi Board by SCHWEIZER 25.05.2012 / 10:00 =-------------------------------------------------------------------- Schramberg, May 25, 2012 - Schweizer Electronic AG extends its portfolio by two more products for the area of system cost reduction: HDI (High Density Interconnect) Combi Board and RF (Radio Frequency) Combi Board. Both boards allow for a maximum in flexibility of combining various materials and different types of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). SCHWEIZER has already successfully introduced a Power Combi Board, in which thick copper (of up to 400 µm) and finepitch PCB elements can be combined within one single board. This board is best suited for the high current segment in automotive applications and inverters. The new boards are covering two more cases of applications. The HDI Combi Board has been developed for applications in which highly complex components, such as microcontrollers, are being combined with standard components on a smallest possible installation space. Multilayer HDI structures are combined with standard multilayers of a low number of layers. Thus, cost intensive 'HDI Multilayering' for complex components only needs to be applied where it is absolutely required. A 'de-routing' via the entire board is therefore not necessary. The RF Combi Board is particularly suited for applications in the radio frequency area. This board combines high frequency PCBs with standard PCBs. This combination reduces the usage of expensive materials, such as e.g. base material filled with ceramics, and contributes to reducing the system cost. 'The Combi Board is an important milestone of a PCB on its way from a pure system carrier to a system solution', explains Christian Rössle, Vice President Sales & Marketing of Schweizer Electronic AG. 'Overall, the Combi Board allows to offer the functionality of several PCBs within one single board, without connectors and cables. In many cases this approach results in a possible system cost reduction as well as in improved quality and reliability.' About Schweizer: Schweizer Electronic AG is a global best-in-class technology company, manufacturing premium PCBs, innovative solutions and services for automotive, solar and industry electronics. Based on recognized technology and consultancy competencies, SCHWEIZER's products and systems address central challenges in the areas of Power Electronics, Embedding and System Cost Reduction and are characterized by energy and environmentally friendly features. Together with its partners Contag GmbH and Meiko Electronics Co. Ltd., the company offers in its division Electronic cost and production optimised solutions for small, medium and large series and within this network employs more than 15,000 people in Germany, Japan, China and Vietnam.
