The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. =-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leoni successfully placed own shares at EUR 14.50 per share Nuremberg, 7 October 2009 - Leoni AG, Nuremberg (ISIN DE 0005408884 / SCN 540888) has fully and successfully completed the placement, as announced yesterday, of 2,933,499 own shares, equivalent to 9.88 percent of its share capital. The shares were offered for purchase by way of accelerated bookbuilding to qualified investors in Germany, Europe as well as in the United States, and they were placed at a price of EUR 14.50. Thus, Leoni AG will receive gross proceeds of approximately EUR 42.5 million from the sale. Delivery of the shares against payment of the placement price is scheduled for 9 October 2009. Leoni AG will improve its equity ratio and debt situation considerably as a result of the sale of own shares. This release does not constitute an offer for the sale or purchase of securities in the United States. Shares of Leoni AG may only be offered or sold in the United States after prior registration or based on an exemption from registration under the rules of the U.S. Securities Act of 1933 as amended.
