total
- Of these, 300 fuel cells delivered in Q4/2007, 800 for delivery in
Q1/2008
- Growth prognosis for 2007 on safe grounds, clear evidence for
additional growth in 2008
Brunnthal, Germany, January 8, 2008 - SFC Smart Fuel Cell AG, the leading
provider of methanol powered fuel cell systems in the medium power range,
has further strengthened its leading position in the European leisure
markets. This is clearly demonstrated by several major incoming orders from
all over Europe in November and December 2007 for 1,100 EFOY fuel cells in
total. Of these, 300 fuel cells were delivered in Q4 of 2007, 800 fuel cell
systems will be relevant to 2008 sales. The total value of these major
orders amounts to approx. 1.8 million Euros.
Major orders were placed among others by Webasto, Italy and Belgium, and
several members of the Trigano Group: Trigano Service and EuroAccessoires,
France, and Grove Products Ltd., England and Ireland. In addition, an order
for over two dozen EFOY fuel cells from an industry sales partner of SFC
Smart Fuel Cell in the West of the U.S.A. reflects the growing interest in
this country for the use of fuel cells in industry applications.
After the first major order of the Trigano group announced by press release
in November 2007, these new orders are clear proof of the increasing demand
for EFOY fuel cells in the European markets.
'Sustainable growth and the expansion of our presence in the European
markets were our major targets for the 2007 business year', says Dr. Peter
Podesser, CEO of SFC Smart Fuel Cell AG. 'The new major orders from France,
England, Ireland, Italy, and the Benelux countries are proof that we have
successfully reached these targets. Thanks to our strong cooperations with
leading wholesale partners in the individual countries, our EFOY brand has
now become an integral part of the caravanning market all over Europe. And
the large order backlog, which will be delivered in the first quarter of
2008, underlines our growth potential for 2008.'
With the additional orders SFC Smart Fuel Cell increases its competitive
edge as a supplier of on-board power equipment for motor homes in the
European markets. For the company, France has meanwhile become the biggest
sales market for EFOY fuel cells. At the same time the U.S. market is
gaining importance with reference to industrial applications.
SFC Smart Fuel Cell has predicted a three digit sales growth rate for the
closed 2007 business year. In the first nine months of 2007 the company
increased its turnover by approx. 130 percent to 9.6 million EUR compared
to the first nine months of the year before.
