Tablet-Geschäft ist abgekühlt

Das Geschäft mit Tablet-Computern ist laut den Marktforschern von IDC nach explosivem Wachstum merklich abgekühlt. Im ersten Quartal sei der Absatz nur noch um 3,9 Prozent auf 50,4 Millionen Geräte gewachsen.

Ein Grund für die abgebremste Entwicklung sei die Konkurrenz durch Smartphones mit großen Bildschirmen, erklärte IDC-Analyst Tom Mainelli. Geräte mit dem Google-Betriebssystem Android machten weiterhin rund zwei Drittel des Marktes aus.

Apple sei mit seinem iPad nach wie vor die Nummer eins unter den Herstellern mit einem Marktanteil von zuletzt 32,5 Prozent. Allerdings war der Absatz der Apple-Tablets im Jahresvergleich ungewöhnlicherweise um gut 16 Prozent gefallen. Der Konzern erklärt dies mit aufgestauter Nachfrage Anfang 2013 wegen Produktionsengpässen. Dadurch sei der Absatz vor einem Jahr übermäßig hoch ausgefallen. Samsung baute den Marktanteil auf dem zweiten Platz binnen eines Jahres von 17,5 auf 22,3 Prozent aus. (dpa/sh)
