Emerson Electric Co. (EMR) signed a definitive agreement to buy Motorola Inc.'s (MOT) Embedded Communications Computing business for $350 million.
The St. Louis electronics manufacturing company Emerson said the unit had 2006 revenue of $520 million, compared with Emerson's revenue of $20.13 billion. Motorola had 2006 revenue of $42.88 billion.
Embedded computing technology is used to control machines or computer systems and to manipulate, translate and route data.
