systaic AG / Product Launch 12.01.2009 Release of a Corporate News, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG. The waste heat that is produced during power production is utilized and recycled via a heat pump to generate heat and hot water. Another new and unique feature is the integration of solar mobility - an annual mileage of 10,000 km is achieved through solar power. systaic AG, a solar technology company headquartered in Düsseldorf, has been specializing in efficient and aesthetic solar power solutions for years. Together with its subsidiary Webasto Solar, a joint venture with Webasto AG, SYSTAIC is the only company in the world to produce photovoltaic modules for car roofs as standard. In addition to solar roof for cars, SYSTAIC's best-known product is the awarded energy roof for buildings. At the international trade fair BAU 2009, for the first time, the two application areas are united into a complete system to suit all living requirements. The core connection of these two areas of life - living and driving - is the rechargeable battery of the electric car. As it can be charged with any excess electricity, the battery is able to provide power to the building in case of a temporary shortage. This means that the car as a mobile storage unit will take over functions that, so far, could only be provided by the power network. This synergy between the SYSTAIC energy roof and the mobile battery has some remarkable economic advantages. The number of SYSTAIC energy units on a photovoltaic energy roof will match the size of the household so that the annual cruising range of the electric car will average 10,000 km. Furthermore, the SYSTAIC energy roof, which has won many architectural awards, will be extended by the function of photovoltaic heat generation: In place of having separate heat collectors, the waste heat of the SYSTAIC energy units will be directed into an optimized heat pump system that generates energy for space heating and hot water. The air conditioning needed in the summer comes as a practical by-product. On annual average, as few as 33 SYSTAIC energy units are required to make a 2-person household independent of heat from fossil energy sources, power from the network and, if an electric car is integrated, they will also help to save fuel. 'Our new system is extremely profitable' explains Michael Pack, CEO of systaic AG. 'Electric cars are available already today and will soon be produced as standard, photovoltaic systems on car roofs are already a reality - a field in which SYSTAIC has unrivalled expertise. The same applies to the area of rooftops: The amendment of the Electricity Feed Act (EEG) in Germany that came into force at the beginning of January stipulates that privately used solar power will pay about 25 euro cents per kilowatt hour. This rate exceeds the feed-in tariff because power network costs will also be saved. If electricity prices from the power network continue to rise - as is to be expected - the total remuneration will increase accordingly. This means that customers will be able to amortize their investment in SYSTAIC solar solutions in the near future while creating sustainable property assets at the same time.' Another attractive feature of the new energy roof system is that the consumer will be able to decide for himself whether he prefers to sell, save or directly use his self-produced power at a given time. During the holiday season, for example, he can simply switch to selling mode. This is how energy management is optimized. Therefore SYSTAIC is building on the accomplishments of its highly aesthetic energy roof. For the first time, the company is also offering downstream system technology for consumption control and energy storage. The SYSTAIC trade fair booth at Europe's most important specialist trade fair for architecture, materials and systems is located in Hall B3, Booth 510. www.systaic.com Additional Information: ISIN: DE000A0JKYP6 Prime Standard; Frankfurt Stock Exchange systaic AG Achim Zolke (Head of PR) Kasernenstraße 27 40213 Düsseldorf Germany Tel. +49-211-828559-0 Fax . +49-211-828559-29 a.zolke@systaic.com www.systaic.com 12.01.2009 Financial News transmitted by DGAP =-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Language: English Issuer: systaic AG Kasernenstr. 27 40213 Düsseldorf Deutschland Phone: +49 (0)211 828559-0 Fax: +49 (0)211 828559-29 E-mail: mail@systaic.com Internet: http://www.systaic.com ISIN: DE000A0JKYP6 WKN: A0JKYP Listed: Regulierter Markt in Frankfurt (Prime Standard); Freiverkehr in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart End of News DGAP News-Service =--------------------------------------------------------------------------
